Serious accident at work in Linz: A pipe spool weighing 2000 kilograms fell onto the legs of a man from Mühlviertel (29) at close range while he was working at a mechanical engineering company. Colleagues freed the seriously injured man with the help of a crane.

A 29-year-old worker suffered severe crushing injuries to both legs in an accident at a mechanical engineering company in Linz on Wednesday morning. The man was working on a 2000 kilogram pipe spool when it tipped over and, according to the police, fell directly onto his legs and remained lying there.

Colleagues reacted quickly
Colleagues lifted the spool with a crane and freed the trapped man. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
