One fatality (33) after rear-end collision on the A4

A rear-end collision on the eastbound highway (A4) in Göttlesbrunn-Arbesthal (district of Bruck a.d. Leitha) claimed one life on Tuesday evening. A 33-year-old from the district of Neusiedl am See had been driving impaired, reported the Lower Austria State Police Directorate. A Hungarian (41) died in the pile-up.

The scene of the accident was the Hungarian carriageway of the A4. While there was no help for the 41-year-old, the man from Burgenland was treated by the emergency services and, according to the police, stated that he was not injured.

Driving license taken away
The public health officer determined that the 33-year-old was impaired due to several symptoms and a blood sample was taken. The man's driver's license was temporarily confiscated. According to the police, the investigation into the cause of the accident is continuing.
