Poisoning continues to puzzle investigators

Six family members from Obertrum near Salzburg complained of dizziness and nausea late on Monday evening. The following day, there were at least some new findings.

A large-scale operation took place on Monday evening in the province of Salzburg, the "Krone" reported. Six family members from Obertrum, aged between three and 72, showed symptoms of poisoning after an incident. They complained of dizziness and nausea. 

The emergency services transferred the victims to Salzburg Regional Hospital and the Hospital of the Brothers of Mercy. The following day, new findings emerged, although the cause remains a mystery to investigators.

Carbon monoxide poisoning ruled out
The suspicion that it was carbon monoxide poisoning can be ruled out after a blood test. A spokeswoman for the Salzburg State Police Directorate explained this to the "Krone" newspaper. The leftover food is now being examined in the hospitals.
