Man and dog swim ashore after crash

A pilot of a small plane in the USA managed to swim ashore with his dog after an emergency landing by the sea. A large contingent of rescue workers was on standby, but medical assistance was not necessary. The plane, on the other hand, is probably lying on the seabed.

The pilot and his four-legged friend were on their way from Santa Monica to Long Beach in California at around 5.20 p.m. on Sunday when one of the plane's engines failed. An emergency landing on the water was unavoidable.

Miraculously, the man and his dog managed to swim to shore under their own power and completely unharmed. The rescue teams standing by on land were not needed. A helicopter searching for the wreckage was unsuccessful - the plane had probably sunk very quickly.
