What Sean Penn really saw in Ukraine

Sean Penn, one of Hollywood's all-time greats, experienced the first shocking hours of the Russian invasion of Ukraine at first hand, while he actually wanted to shoot a portrait of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. He inadvertently became a witness to this historic moment.

Although he managed to flee the country in time, he returned just a few weeks later to document the events on location. The result: "Superpower - Sean Penn in Ukraine", a documentary film that captures his experiences during the turbulent time in Kiev and also deals with the prehistory of the war. 

The documentary can be seen from April 13 on the HISTORY Channel (Sky and Amazon Prime).
