Fenerbahce boss: “Better to die on a single day!”
Fenerbahce will allow its members to vote on Tuesday evening at an extraordinary general meeting of the major soccer club from Istanbul on whether to leave the Turkish Süper Lig!
The 28-time national champions issued a threat to this effect following an attack on their players by opposing fans after a league match at Trabzonspor in March.
"We'd rather die in a single day than die every day!"
"We will be relegated to a lower league if we have to. We'd rather die in one day than die every day," said Fenerbahce president Ali Koc about the club's intentions.
Fenerbahce are currently in second place in the Turkish championship, two points behind leaders Galatasaray. Turkish soccer has made negative headlines in the recent past with incidents of violence.
