Toilet overflowed: Plane had to turn back
A terrible stench on board has caused an involuntary stop on a United Airlines plane. Due to maintenance problems with a toilet, the plane had to turn back on its way from Frankfurt am Main to San Francisco.

The journey only continued the next day
The airline confirmed to Deutsche Presse-Agentur on Easter Sunday that flight UA59 returned on Good Friday due to a maintenance problem in a toilet. It did not give any further details.
The passengers would have been able to fly to San Francisco the next day on another plane after an overnight stay in a hotel in Frankfurt. Frankfurt Airport also confirmed that the plane had flown back. However, the reason for this was not known, said the traffic manager.
