In love with Wörthersee
Lady Di’s ex-butler: “Will see me more often now”
The likeable Brit fell in love with the lake at Werzer's season opener - and is thinking about a third home.
"Who's that?" While the local celebrities presented themselves in a flurry of flashbulbs at Werzer's season opener, German actress Mariella Ahrens took lessons in red-white-red high society at the "Krone". Of course, she knows her late compatriot Roy Black - and not just because she played his love interest in the 1996 film biography of the "Schloss am Wörthersee" star. A trip to Velden was therefore a must.

Star guest Paul Burrell, Lady Di's former butler and now reality TV star, was already raving about the beautiful lake in the afternoon before the gala evening. "I have a house in Tuscany just a few hours' drive away - and I've never been here before. What a shame. But you'll probably see me here more often in the future. Maybe it will even become my third home," the Brit promises.
He would probably also often bump into the Wörthersee legend Otto Retzer, who was of course also present at the season opening. Was the royal ex-butler "amused" by the spontaneous singing interludes on the evening of Waterloo and Jazz Gitti between the culinary toque courses and the festive award ceremony? "Special, but very nice," he said - British humor, after all.
