Lukas Feurstein caused the big scare in Saalbach on Friday: The Vorarlberg native caught a gate on the finish slope. The result was a wild take-off and it immediately became very quiet at the finish. Fortunately, the 22-year-old was back on his feet shortly afterwards.
No fractures
After an X-ray examination, the all-clear has now been given: no fractures were found. Feurstein suffered a contusion to his right metacarpal.
Jubilation for the Swiss
In the end, the Swiss were jubilant: Stefan Rogentin won the last super-G of the season ahead of his compatriots Loic Meillard (+0.03 seconds) and Arnaud Boisset (+0.15). Marco Odermatt came fifth and thus also took the crystal globe in this discipline.
