At the winner's interview
Pariasek makes people laugh with his English
ORF reporter Rainer Pariasek made people laugh at the Super-G final in Saalbach on Friday. During the winner's interview, he praised Czech skier Ester Ledecka's knowledge of German, saying it was "better than my English".
"I have to practise, I haven't been on the podium for a while now," insisted Ledecka on Friday, conducting the ORF interview in German. And the exceptional winter sportswoman from the Czech Republic proved that she is not only a multi-talented athlete (skiing and snowboarding), but also a linguist.
Ledecka, who thanked her mentor Robert Trenkwalder in particular, only had a little difficulty with the word "proud". "Sorry for my German. I'll try," said the winner of the last super-G race of the season at the end of the interview.
ORF reporter Pariasek countered immediately, praising Ledecka and adding: "It's great, it's better than my English." This brought a smile to Ledecka's face, Pariasek can laugh at himself too ...
