Agreement on new head of Klagenfurt city council
If nothing else comes up, Jürgen Dumpelnik should move into the town hall as the new municipal director. Only Michael Zernig, the head of Ebenthal, could still turn the tide.
At a summit in the town hall on Tuesday, the SP, FP and Neos announced that they would vote for Dumpelnik in the appointment of the new head of the municipal council. This means that the chairman of the Stadtwerke supervisory board has 25 of the 45 votes, so to speak.
Greens call for new tender, TK and VP for Zernig
The Greens are not voting for either candidate and are calling for a new tender. Team Kärnten and the VP prefer Zernig. At present, the vote would be 25:17 in favor of Dumpelnik. This is the basis that city leader Christian Scheider (TK) has demanded for the appointment.
Dumpelnik previously worked for Voves
Dumpelnik was previously politically active in Graz. Born in Bleiburg, he worked in a leading role for the former Styrian governor Franz Voves and was then director of the provincial parliament. Now he is about to return home.
