Dog zone fence broken through in car accident
A driver crashed his vehicle into the fence of a dog zone in Vienna-Liesing on Tuesday and overturned. The driver escaped with minor injuries.
A driver drove his car off the road in Vienna-Liesing on Tuesday morning and broke through the fence of a dog zone. According to Christian Feiler, spokesman for the professional fire department, the accident occurred at around 8.40 am at the junction of Breitenfurter Straße and Lehmanngasse. The car destroyed some equipment in the dog zone and damaged a hydrant. The elderly driver probably escaped with minor injuries.
Car lying on its side
No four-legged friends or their owners were injured in the spectacular accident. So far unconfirmed eyewitness reports have said that the driver was pushed off or even hit by a truck and that his car overturned. When the professional fire department arrived at the scene of the accident, the car was lying on its side. Passers-by helped the driver out of the car. Emergency services treated him and took him to hospital - apparently as a precaution.
The emergency services cleaned up the leaking oil and pulled the car out of the dog zone using the winch of a fire engine. It was then put on its wheels and transported away. The protruding parts of the fence were removed and secured.
