Crazy U-turn maneuver by wrong-way driver

An unknown car driver caused open mouths and anxious moments on the Rhine Valley highway on Monday - shortly before the Pfänder Tunnel, he had the idea of turning around... 

At around 12.30 p.m. on Monday, a stranger drove his car onto the Rhine Valley highway near Bregenz in the direction of Germany. Just before entering the Pfänder Tunnel, he steered his car onto the emergency lane. And then something monstrous happened: the stranger turned around in his dark-colored station wagon and drove on as a wrong-way driver in the direction of Tyrol!

Two oncoming drivers just managed to swerve out of the way and avoid a collision. After around 150 meters, the unidentified driver initiated another U-turn and then sped off in the direction of Germany. The Dornbirn highway police are now looking for witnesses who can provide information about the wanted vehicle or the driver.
