Last generation protests in front of the Chancellery
In light of US Secretary of State Antony Blinken's visit, a small group of climate activists have made their displeasure known in front of the Federal Chancellery.
The Last Generation, including Anja Windl, demonstrated in front of the Federal Chancellery on Friday because of the visit by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken. With banners and vests, the protest group sat directly in front of the Federal Chancellery so as not to leave the international meeting between Blinken, Federal Chancellor Karl Nehammer and Foreign Minister Schallenberg without comment.
"The USA and Europe, as the main drivers of the climate crisis, must live up to their responsibilities. Nothing less than the future of our civilization is at stake here." The climate activists criticized both the USA and Austria for "defaulting on climate policy." According to the police, the protest has since ended.
