1. FC Köln against RB Leipzig – LIVE from 8.30 pm
RB Leipzig moved up to fourth place in the German Bundesliga on Friday, at least for two days. The Saxons celebrated a 5:1 away win against 1. FC Köln and are now two points ahead of runners-up Borussia Dortmund, who will host Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday.
Xavi Simons had put the visitors ahead after a quarter of an hour, but FC quickly equalized through Sargis Adamyans (18th). After the break, Lois Openda (63', 67'), Amadou Haidara (70') and Yussuf Poulsen (82') made everything clear for RB. It was Cologne's heaviest home defeat since the 6-1 loss to Borussia Dortmund in March 2012. Leipzig had already won the first leg 6-0 last October.
Xaver Schlager played through for the winners, Christoph Baumgartner was substituted in the 75th minute and Nicolas Seiwald was on the bench. For Cologne, Florian Kainz was substituted in the 73rd minute and Dejan Ljubicic was absent due to illness.
Cologne remain in 16th place in the relegation places and could drop back to a direct relegation spot on Saturday.
