Sexual harassment
Proceedings against singer Marc Terenzi discontinued
The proceedings against singer and former RTL jungle king Marc Terenzi for the accusation of sexual harassment of a 15-year-old girl have been provisionally discontinued.
Judge Barbara Reusch from Borna district court emphasized on Thursday that Terenzi must try to reach a victim-offender settlement within three months. She emphasized that the suspension was made "without any acknowledgement of guilt".
"Grip on the buttocks"
If the 45-year-old proves his efforts to the court, the proceedings will be discontinued completely. According to the judge, the case was also dropped in order to spare the young person a hearing before the district court.
According to Terenzi's lawyer Andreas Hohnel, the case concerned "an alleged grab on the teenager's bottom". The alleged victim was the daughter of one of the singer's former partners. Terenzi had always denied the accusation.
Happy about the discontinuation of the proceedings
In September, the Borna district court issued a penalty order against Terenzi in the amount of 50 daily rates of 20 euros each. The public hearing took place after he lodged an appeal.
Terenzi said after the trial that his life had changed completely since the allegations and that he was now happy that the proceedings had been dropped. "We are very happy with the dismissal. It is an acquittal without a verdict," emphasized lawyer Hohnel.
Terenzi had won the eleventh season of the RTL show "Ich bin ein Star - Holt mich hier raus!" in 2017.
