Why Bullen-Dane is not angry with his coach
Suddenly not playing came as a surprise to Salzburg's top performer Mads Bidstrup. In an interview with the "Krone", the Dane explained how he reacted and why he could even understand the decision.
It didn't take long for Mads Bidstrup to play his way into the hearts of Salzburg fans after his arrival last summer. The "straddler with the angel curls" stood out as a tireless midfield motor, reeling off kilometer after kilometer. This impressed the supporters, who voted the Dane their favorite. Under coach Gerhard Struber, Bidstrup was an undisputed regular in the fall and only missed two games - one due to injury and one due to illness.
It was a big surprise when the 23-year-old found himself on the bench recently. He didn't play a minute against Blau-Weiß Linz (1:1) and only came on midway through the second half in the 7:0 win against Austria Lustenau. "It was a bit difficult for me," Bidstrup admitted in the "Krone" interview. Was he angry with his manager? "No. Never!", replied the endurance runner.
The top performer has no problems subordinating himself. "I do what the coach says. Especially against opponents who play very deep, I understand if he wants more offensive power."

Still lacking up front with one assist in 29 games. The 23-year-old is self-critical: "I simply have to score more goals and make more assists." After all, he wants to keep the upper hand in the competition in the long term. Because he also knows: "Our squad is really good."
He is already on top in the three-way battle on the console with his Danish colleagues Maurits Kjaergaard and Adam Daghim. "I'm the best gambler of us," laughs the midfielder, who will probably be hanging out with his friends again on Thursday. There will be no training before the opening match of the championship group against Hartberg on Sunday.
