Children’s room in Fußach was already on fire

A resident of an apartment building in Fußach (Vorarlberg) had a rude awakening at around 3.30 am on Friday: awakened by loud noises, she discovered that her apartment was on fire. Smoke and flames were already billowing out of the children's room. 

Fortunately, the 50-year-old was alone in the apartment, which she left immediately and called the fire department. The emergency services moved out and evacuated the house. A total of 19 residents were brought to safety.

The fire, which was apparently caused by an electric freezer that had caught fire, was quickly extinguished. No people were injured.
