Attempted robbery
68-year-old threatened and injured by three men
On Monday night, a man (68) in St. Marein near Wolfsberg was threatened and beaten up by two 19-year-old men and a 17-year-old in the driveway of his property. The three were beaten off with a trick.
The three men had suspected the 68-year-old of having cannabis, wanted to rob him and also search an outbuilding of the property. They even threatened the man from St. Marein with a stabbing weapon and knocked him to the ground. The man then told the intruders that he had already called the police, which is why they fled.
Two perpetrators returned
At around 5.30 am, however, the two 19-year-olds returned and broke open the window to the outbuilding. One of them was carrying a gas pistol. The noise woke up the 68-year-old and this time he really did call the police. The arriving officers from Wolfsberg police station were finally able to apprehend and arrest an armed perpetrator.
19-year-old taken to prison
After extensive investigations, the two other suspects were finally identified. The two older men were taken to Klagenfurt prison. The 17-year-old will be released after the investigations have been completed. Officers from the Wolfsberg police station also secured evidence at the scene of the crime.
