Luxury labels declare the topless look a megatrend

The no-bra trend among transparent garments is here to stay. The big and luxurious fashion labels Valentino, Chloe and Saint Laurent all showed see-through, delicate dresses and blouses at their fashion shows, under which the models wore no bras. 

When Florence Pugh started appearing at film premieres in gossamer-sheer dresses two years ago, there was a lot of excitement. She had to justify it in a long interview, although she didn't understand the outrage. "It's the freedom that people are afraid of, the fact that I feel comfortable and happy," she said.

Nowadays, women who confidently wear their breasts under transparent dresses are almost "state of the art".

The major fashion houses have even declared the look a megatrend for the Fall/Winter 2024-2025 shows.

Chloe created a new 70s-style hippie look and combined high boots with sheer dresses in pastel colors with adorable ruffle details or white lace.

Valentino went for a more minimalist look in black with long, high-slit skirts and sheer black tops.

Saint Laurent also showed something similar in Paris and was able to win over US actress Olivia Wilde as a testimonial.

As beautiful as the look looks on red carpets or at fashion shows and as much as it may show women's self-confidence and that the body is something natural and beautiful, it is unsuitable for everyday wear.
