Accidental drive ends in hospital for Pinzgau woman

After a rear-end collision and hitting a tree, an 80-year-old woman from Pinzgau in Zell am See came to a halt in her car near a food market on Thursday.

For as yet unexplained reasons, the pensioner first rear-ended another vehicle, later touched a tree, drove up an embankment and only came to a halt on the grille of a food market's air conditioning system.

According to the police, the 80-year-old was taken to the Tauernklinikum Zell with injuries. Her 62-year-old passenger sought medical care on her own. 

All alcohol tests were negative.
