Uncle was handling a weapon: shot hit 13-year-old

A 13-year-old suffered serious arm and chest injuries in a private home in Wörgl. His uncle was probably handling a handgun and accidentally fired a shot. 

At around 7.22 pm on Friday, the police received a report of a gunshot wound in a private house in the town of Wörgl. 

The Tyrol control center dispatched an ambulance, an emergency ambulance, an emergency helicopter and two police patrols to the scene. 

According to the current state of the investigation, the 13-year-old's uncle was handling a handgun in the house and a shot may have been fired unintentionally, hitting the child in the upper arm and chest area. 

The injured 13-year-old was responsive and was flown to Innsbruck University Hospital by emergency helicopter after receiving first aid. Further investigations are underway at the scene.
