Worker chased thief with drill as loot
An unusual theft occurred on Tuesday morning at a construction site in Jenbach in the Tyrolean district of Schwaz. A 68-year-old man apparently wanted to steal an impact drill from a flatbed truck. But the owner did not put up with it.
The 48-year-old worker on the construction site observed how the suspected thief took the impact drill set, worth a four-digit euro amount, from the loading area of his flatbed truck. The local man pursued the initially unknown man, but lost sight of him and then alerted the police.
Recognized thanks to exact description
According to the police, the 48-year-old was able to give a precise description of the suspect, whereupon several patrols were deployed to search the area and shortly afterwards came across a man who exactly matched the description.
When confronted with the facts of the case, the 68-year-old Bosnian confessed to having stolen the drill set. He then returned the stolen goods to the owner complete and undamaged. The 68-year-old will now face charges.
