Three dead children (1, 2, 3) discovered in apartment building

Emergency services discovered three lifeless children (1, 2, 3) and their lifeless father (37) in an apartment building in Meißen (Saxony) on Sunday evening. 

An emergency doctor was only able to determine their deaths, as the public prosecutor's office and police in Dresden announced on Monday.

Investigations are in full swing
The police cordoned off the crime scene and began questioning local residents. The 37-year-old dead man is said to be the father of the children. He is said to have lived separately from the mother.

Forensics were completed on Monday afternoon. The apartment is located in the attic and is sealed. The discovery site is located in a street with three- and four-storey apartment buildings.

Homicide suspected
The police did not comment on the circumstances of the death. However, the police assume a homicide and rule out the involvement of third parties. For tactical investigative reasons, further details are currently being kept under wraps.

Meissen - famous for its Meissen porcelain - is located northwest of Dresden on the River Elbe and has a population of around 30,000.
