Netflix subscriptions will be more expensive again in Austria

The streaming service Netflix is raising its subscription prices in Austria, according to its own information. All subscription levels are becoming more expensive - and not for the first time.

The costs for the cheapest tariff (basic subscription) will rise from 7.99 to 8.99 euros per month, the middle tariff (standard subscription) will also increase by one euro to 13.99 euros and the most expensive tariff (premium subscription) will cost 19.99 euros per month in future, up from 17.99 euros previously. The price increases apply to new and existing customers.

The new prices were published on the Netflix website on Monday evening. According to the company, existing customers will be informed individually about the new prices from this week and will then have 30 days to agree, choose a different tariff or cancel their subscription. The last price increase in Austria was in August 2020.

The costs for additional members (4.99 euros per month) will remain unchanged, according to Netflix. There will also be no changes to the other conditions of the individual models. The basic model allows streaming for one device in standard resolution. The medium level offers HD resolution and use on an additional device. The premium version enables videos in Ultra HD and HDR and playback on up to four devices simultaneously.
