13-year-old downhill biker seriously injured

A 13-year-old boy was seriously injured in a downhill bike accident in Tyrol on Sunday. The young biker lost control of his bike and hit his face on the stony forest floor.

Serious downhill bike accident in Kramsach, Tyrol. At around 1.25 p.m., a 13-year-old biker was riding downhill on the fitness mile at the local cross-country and downhill course in Kramsach/Wittberg. Shortly before the end of the course, the local lost control of his bike after jumping over a jump and crashed.

Serious injuries to his face
Despite wearing a bicycle helmet, he sustained serious injuries when he hit his face on the stony forest floor. His friend witnessed the fall and set the rescue chain in motion. After being rescued by the rescue team and the Kramsach mountain rescue team, the 13-year-old was taken to hospital in Innsbruck with serious injuries to his face.
