Drug apartment blown open due to alarm shot

Suddenly, a loud bang disturbed the evening peace in an apartment building in Klagenfurt. A tenant had heard a shot from the apartment below and immediately alerted the police.

Emergency call to the police about a gunshot at 9.45 pm in Klagenfurt. Patrols and officers from EKO COBRA and the Rapid Intervention Group were deployed immediately. "After knocking and a verbal request, the apartment door was opened from the inside," reported the police. "A 22-year-old and a 17-year-old, both from Klagenfurt, were staying there."

The officers searched the apartment and quickly made a find. "More than 100 grams of herbal cannabis, cash and a blank-firing pistol with ammunition were seized," said the police. When questioned on site, however, it could not be clarified why the 22-year-old had fired a shot.

"People were not endangered by the shot, but a temporary weapons ban was nevertheless issued," explained the police. "Further investigations are still required due to the narcotics found." The two young men from Klagenfurt will then be reported to the public prosecutor's office.
