Actress Nicola Peltz-Beckham is suing a Westchester dog groomer whom she accuses of killing her beloved Chihuahua "Nala".

In court documents obtained by the US website "TMZ", the 29-year-old daughter-in-law of David and Victoria Beckham accuses the HoundSpa in Mount Kisco of being responsible for the death of her dog. The death occurred hours after a routine grooming treatment by an unsuitable member of staff.

"Malicious abuse of dogs"
The groomer in question, Jony Ceballos, has a history of "willful and malicious abuse of dogs," according to the lawsuit.

Peltz-Beckham also accuses HoundSpa of continuing to employ Ceballos despite numerous complaints accusing him of animal abuse. What exactly happened during the grooming treatment was not detailed in the lawsuit. However, Peltz-Beckham explained on Instagram that Nala "came out hyperventilating and couldn't breathe".

"Like her own child"
The "Lola" actress, who is married to Brooklyn Beckham, immediately took the nine-year-old dog to the vet, where she passed away.

Vet reports showed that Nala - who was treated "like her own child" by Peltz-Beckham - had fluid in her lungs, neurological problems and an elevated heart rate before she died, sources told TMZ.
