Dankl appears in a suit for the first time at the festival

Kay-Michael Dankl is a communist, deputy mayor of the city of Salzburg and now also wears a suit. The politician known for wearing T-shirts and pullovers slipped into a fine suit at the opening of the festival.

When asked when he would wear a suit, Kay-Michael Dankl once replied succinctly, "As often as necessary". Now the time had come. The communist and deputy mayor of the city of Salzburg officially wore a suit for the first time at the opening of the Salzburg Festival.

Dankl, who always wears his familiar red-brown T-shirts and round-necked sweaters in everyday political life and when performing, admitted that he even owns several suits. For the festival, he actually slipped into a jacket and suit trousers for the ceremony.

In complete contrast to musician Hubert von Goisern, who came to the opening ceremony at the Felsenreitschule in a simple summer shirt. Neither Dankl nor von Goisern wore a tie...
