The eagerly awaited series "Máxima", which reveals the fascinating life of the reigning Dutch Queen, is coming to German TV.

RTL+ will show the royal romance as a gripping six-parter, from her early years in Argentina and New York to her new life as Queen of the Netherlands.

From the moment Máxima appears at Crown Prince Willem-Alexander's side, she is in the spotlight. But when he asks her to marry him, the past catches up with her ...

RTL+ will be streaming the highly emotional series "Máxima" from Saturday, August 17. 

The episodes will celebrate their German TV premiere on Sunday, August 18 and Sunday, August 25 on RTL Passion. The pay-TV channel will show three episodes at 8:15 p.m. each day.

Argentinian plays the Queen
Máxima is played by Argentinian actress Delfina Chaves ("The Secret of the Greco Family"), Crown Prince Willem-Alexander by Martijn Lakemeier ("The East").

The roles of the former ruling couple Claus von Amsberg and Queen Beatrix will be played by Sebastian Koch ("The Lives of Others") and Elsie de Brauw ("On the Death of My Mother").

"Máxima" is based on the book "Máxima Zorreguieta: Motherland" by Marcia Luyten, published by De Bezige Bij in the Netherlands. Millstreet Films produces in co-production with Beta Film and FBO.

The series has been sold in more than 25 countries and a 2nd season has already been ordered. Beta Film is responsible for world sales.
