No break for A10

Tunnel construction paused, but vacation traffic jams loom

From Friday morning, the A10 through the Pongau tunnel chain will be open to traffic again. This will also be necessary for the start of numerous vacations.

On Friday, Asfinag will reopen the congestion-plagued tunnel chain in Pongau to traffic. However, there will hardly be a break for the highway and the neighboring communities. This is because the break in the roadworks fits seamlessly into the vacation season. Vacations are already underway in four northern and eastern German states.

Tomorrow, Friday, the summer vacations start in eastern Austria, and the school year also ends throughout the Czech Republic. Denmark is also starting its summer vacation. This means that a lot of traffic can be expected on the A10 again. This weekend there is also the Formula 1 race in Spielberg. Along the Tauernautobahn, there will again be exit and transit closures in summer.
