Klagenfurt has enough money for the conference center

Five million euros are available. The new coalition found a "loophole".

At last! The funding for the conference center is secured. The city of Klagenfurt has also raised the five million euros that were outstanding for financing. This is being taken from an account in which money for land sold by the city is parked.

"There are currently 5.5 million euros in the account, of which we need five million," says city councillor Max Habenicht (VP). As reported, the conference center costs 20 million euros. The Carinthian Trade Fairs are covering ten million themselves, five million will be covered by the state and five million by the city.

"The finance committee with Philipp Liesnig (SP) has given its approval, now all that's missing is the go-ahead from the city senate and the municipal council. That shouldn't be a problem," says trade fair president Harald Kogler. "Construction is scheduled to start in 2026 and be completed in 2027." Patrick Jonke (Team Carinthia): "The new coalition wanted to secure the completion of the project, and it has succeeded."
