Extended weekend brings traffic jams again

As early as Wednesday afternoon, columns of traffic will be back in Salzburg. Local holidaymakers will be heading south. On Saturday, there is a risk of traffic jams due to the wave of returning German Whitsun holidaymakers.

The wave of people returning to Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg at the end of the Whitsun vacations will be particularly noticeable on Saturday. Numerous north-south connections and border crossings will be overloaded, the ÖAMTC traffic experts agree.

As early as Wednesday afternoon, Austrian short vacationers will be making their way to the upper Adriatic or South Tyrol, so heavy traffic is to be expected on the main roads in the cities. Some major events in Salzburg and Styria will cause delays in the local area at the weekend.
