Flaming inferno after rollover with car

An off-road vehicle turned into a fireball after a rollover in the Amstetten district. The driver miraculously escaped with minor injuries, but the wreck burned out completely.

Dramatic moments on a country road near Biberbach in the district of Amstetten: The driver of an off-road vehicle lost control of his vehicle and rumbled onto an embankment, causing the car to roll over and come to rest on its roof.

Car driver as rescuer
The driver, who was slightly injured, was able to escape with the help of other drivers before the wreck went up in flames. By the time the first fire crews arrived at the scene, the demolished car had already turned into a ball of fire.

Forest saved from fire
Firefighters wearing heavy breathing protection immediately launched an extinguishing attack. In the meantime, comrades from Seitenstetten-Dorf and St. Georgen in der Klaus arrived and supported the local firefighters. Thanks to the rapid intervention and the use of extinguishing foam, the flames were prevented from spreading to the adjacent forest.
