Maddie case: police to receive more money

17 years after the disappearance of little Madeleine McCann, the British Home Office is making further money available for the investigation. The then three-year-old Madeleine McCann disappeared from a vacation apartment in Praia da Luz, Portugal, on May 3, 2007, while her parents were out for dinner. The girl would have been 21 years old today.

The Ministry has granted the Metropolitan Police up to 192,000 pounds (224,619 euros) for the year 2024/2025.

15.4 million euros already invested in the search
By the end of March, the total costs for "Operation Grange" had amounted to 13.2 million pounds (around 15.4 million euros), wrote Secretary of State Andrew Sharpe. The budget is currently funding a team of three police officers and one other employee, all on a part-time basis.
