Green-white stumbles
Three out of 14! Rapids’ home record of horror
Hütteldorf are the weakest team in the top six at home.At least Cvetkovic's strong return gives reason for hope.
The former fortress of Hütteldorf - it is crumbling more and more: Rapid are still miles away from being a home power this season, with an appalling record of just three wins after 14 of 16 league matches at the Allianz Stadium. The Green-Whites are bottom of the home ranking of the Champions Group teams, with only Altach, Tirol and Lustenau worse off in the 12-team league.
Far too little for the demands, the fans were gracious after the 1:3 against Sturm and a week before the Cup final: "It's not a matter of course that the fans in the block cheer you on after a defeat," goalkeeper Niklas Hedl also registered the encouraging action of the supporters.
"Monster on the pitch"
The most positive thing on Wednesday was the comeback of Nenad Cvetkovic. The Serbian immediately took on the role of leader: "Nenad is a monster on the pitch and can help us a lot with his presence," affirmed coach Robert Klauß.
On Sunday at LASK, important absences are once again looming: "We're working on hopefully being able to play in the cup final," Leo Querfeld let it be known that the game in Klagenfurt has priority. The center-back duo Cvetkovic/Querfeld could be sorely needed by Rapid on May 1st. Lukas Grgic has a similar tendency: "I already have Sunday in the back of my mind. But the goal is of course the Cup final."
