Residents at the lake rage
The streetlights have been dark for four years
The residents of Plaschischen on Lake Keutschach have been complaining about the lack of street lighting since 2020. The "Krone" reported several times. "Mayor Gerhard Oleschko continues to leave us in the dark. We are sick and tired of his promises," says Gabriele Tomantschger angrily.
The citizens' fight for a street light has been going on for many years now. "Mayor Gerhard Oleschko continues to leave us sitting in the dark," says Gabriele Tomantschger angrily. "The current situation is intolerable. All the streetlights in the village of 120 inhabitants don't light up in the evening, and there are even cables hanging out of every lamp. There is also no sign of a switch to LED lights. Now the summer season is starting, many guests are coming. The Pyramidenkogel generates more than enough money for the municipality. But when it gets dark in Plaschischen, all guests need flashlights."
Mayor Gerhard Oleschko (Team Kärnten) comments: "It's a politically driven story. Work on the lighting started last year, but unfortunately all the cables are broken. Only four lamps are completely dark. The material was not delivered. It's a major project. We are converting a total of 40 lanterns to LED lights. Everything should be ready in a few weeks." According to residents, however, more than 40 lanterns are affected. Veronika Leutschacher: "The number is not correct. And all the lights are dark. The municipality apparently has no idea!"
