Travel fever is high this year. It will be possible to reach five destinations by plane from Klagenfurt this summer: Vienna, Paros/Naxos (Greece), London, Alicante and Palma di Mallorca (Spain). These last three destinations will be served by Ryanair. The low-cost airline will initially operate 14 flights a week and carry around 90,000 passengers a year in Carinthia. These activities will create 60 local jobs.
With cheap tickets to the wide world
CEO Andreas Gruber presented the figures on Wednesday: "With 3,300 daily flights, Ryanair is the largest airline in Europe. We have 84 routes to Austria and carry 184 million passengers a year." The low-cost airline flies to 250 airports in 37 countries. "The airline has grown by 160 percent since the pandemic," says Gruber. A flight ticket with Ryanair costs an average of 45 euros.
We are the fastest growing airline in the world, flying to London, Mallorca and Alicante from Klagenfurt. And new destinations are following.
The future of the airline's activities in Klagenfurt is still being negotiated. Brussels, Manchester and Dublin, which were already in the program, are considered to be additional destinations.
