Swiss car driver (24) crashes into traffic lights

A car driver had a stroke of luck on Wednesday afternoon in neighboring St. Gallen. While his car was only worth scrap metal after colliding with a set of traffic lights, the 24-year-old was uninjured. 

The young man was driving out of town on Rorschacher Straße at around 2.45 p.m. when he lost control of his vehicle. He crashed over a traffic island and then crashed into the pole of a traffic light.  

Neither he nor anyone else was injured in the collision. Minor damage was caused to the traffic island and the traffic lights. The police suspect that the cause of the accident was a technical defect in the brakes.
