Ten Carinthian chefs have come up with something special for the upcoming European Football Championship - a tribute to the competition.

On May 24, ten top chefs from the Villach and Villach-Land districts will swap their actual place of work, the kitchen, for the Lind soccer arena in Villach. But the chefs don't want to play football, they want to stick to their great passion, cooking.

"The chefs of the kitchen cult have joined forces and want to pay homage to the upcoming European Football Championship on this day," explains Silvia Wirnsberger from the Villach tourist region in an interview with the "Krone". And at this European Cooking Championship, gourmets can look forward to a variety of delights.

Ten European dishes
Each of the ten chefs will serve a dish from a participating European Championship country. From Italian vitello tonnato to Austrian iced Sachertorte and Dalmatian roast beef, there is something for every taste. "This will be accompanied by drinks typical of the country," says Wirnsberger.

The Austrian menu will be provided by Marco van den Broek from the village of Schönleitn in Faak am See. At the end of the evening, guests will be able to choose their personal European cooking champion.

Tickets are available at the tourist offices in Villach, Faak and Sattendorf.
