ATP world rankings:
Sinner second, Ofner and Thiem lose places
After his victory at the Masters in Miami, Jannik Sinner has risen to number two in the tennis world rankings for the first time in his career, while Sebastian Ofner and Dominic Thiem have lost places.
For the South Tyrolean Sinner, it was his 22nd win in his 23rd match of the year - after his triumphs at the Australian Open and in Rotterdam, he only lost the semi-final of Indian Wells against Carlos Alcaraz this year. In the ATP ranking published on Monday, Sinner has now overtaken the Spaniard and is the first tennis pro from Italy ever to be ranked second.
Alcaraz third
Only the Serbian Novak Djokovic is ahead of Sinner, who decided not to take part in Miami after his early exit in Indian Wells at the beginning of the month. Alcaraz slipped to third place. Sebastian Ofner from Styria dropped seven places and is now 47th, Dominic Thiem is 91st (minus one) and also still in the ATP's top 100. Julia Grabher is currently 123rd in the women's rankings.
