Sandl celebrate their eighth derby win in a row
SV Sandl were also unbeatable in the match of the round against SPG Windhaag/Leopoldschlag, winning the "Nordketten derby" by a clear 5:2. It was Sandl's eighth win in a row against the team. Encouragingly, despite the rivalry, there was once again no nastiness.
"Actually, I always have a worse feeling from derby to derby because we're already too sure of ourselves," says Reinhard Hartl. However, the Sandl sporting director's worries are completely unfounded. Especially as his team, in which he himself still plays, also celebrated a clear victory in the match of the round against Windhaag/Leopoldschlag - 5:2. It was already the eighth win in a row against the syndicate!
Four derby debutants
"They just manage to put a spanner in the works in the derby more than we do," said Windhaag coach Wolfgang Hajferuk about the horror series in the local duel. This time it was all about the debutants, as it was not only Hajferuk's first time on the touchline as head coach in the "Nordketten" derby (he had previously only been involved as "co"). It was also the first for Sandl coach Dominik Wahlmüller, while players Marco Höller and Florian Tschunko also made their debuts.
Together to Ried
Despite the rivalry, the derby is always characterized by friendship and there was no hostility or spitefulness in the 5:2, in which Thomas Punz scored a dream goal from 25 meters to make it 2:0 (44.), and only one yellow card in total! "The most important thing is that we can drink a beer together afterwards. I also have a lot of friends in Windhaag, we're also going to Ried together on Friday for the game against GAK," said Hartl.
