Car overturned
Drunk driver (21) called mom first after accident
A 21-year-old woman from the Innviertel region left the road in Freinberg on Thursday night and overturned her car. Instead of calling the emergency services, the young woman called her mother first, who set the rescue chain in motion. The driver involved in the accident had a blood alcohol level of 1.68.
The 21-year-old from the district of Schärding was driving on the L 1154 Saminger Straße from Passau towards Schardenberg at around 1.30 a.m. on Thursday night. In Freinberg, the driver suddenly left the road - her car overturned and came to a halt in a meadow.
Mother called rescue
The 21-year-old was apparently able to free herself from her vehicle, reached for her cell phone - but did not dial the emergency number, instead calling her mother first, according to the police. It was her mother who then set the rescue chain in motion.
After first aid at the scene, the ambulance took the injured woman to Passau Hospital. A breathalyzer test revealed a blood alcohol level of 1.68 per mille: the driver's license is temporarily suspended.
