Manhunt in Innsbruck: Bank robber on the run

A manhunt was launched in Innsbruck on Wednesday afternoon. The reason: an armed robber held up a bank branch in the Olympisches Dorf district. The perpetrator is on the run. A picture from the surveillance camera shows the man. 

The robbery took place shortly after 3.30 p.m. at a Sparkasse branch in Schützenstraße in the east of the Tyrolean capital. "We are not yet able to say who the perpetrator is," said the police. The armed bank robber managed to escape.

Perpetrator had to leave without any loot
A large contingent of police arrived after the robbery. A helicopter was also used in the search for the perpetrator. As the police announced towards the evening, the masked perpetrator had to leave without any loot.

 The man is about 170 centimeters tall and between 20 and 30 years old. He had a handgun with him during the robbery. Information is requested from the State Office of Criminal Investigation at: 059133/70-3333
