Ardagger relies on home strength: “Nobody likes to travel to us!”

Good at home, bad away! That makes life difficult for newly promoted Ardagger: Coach Michael Unterberger's team are still unbeaten in the Mostviertel, but are still waiting for their first win away from home. On Friday, they will once again rely on their home strength against Leobendorf - and their many fans! 

"Thank God we're playing at home!" That's probably the tenor of some Ardagger fans ahead of the home clash against Leobendorf on Friday (7.30pm). The reason: SCU only have the lights on in their own living room. They are the only team in the Eastern Football League still unbeaten at home, with 17 points at their own ground. While the promoted team has only picked up one point away from home.

 "What's more, we've only scored one goal away from home," said sporting director Wolfgang Riesenhuber. "That's crazy. We find it extremely difficult on foreign pitches and sometimes have too much respect," says the SCU boss. In the Mostviertel, however, captain Aigner & Co. let themselves be carried by the "crowd". Against Wr. Viktoria, they were cheered by over 900 visitors. "Many were there because of Toni Polster. However, we also have a great average otherwise, we always have around 600 spectators." This is another reason why the promoted team invested in infrastructure and now has its own business club. Riesenhuber grins: "Small but nice. Our loyal supporters are very happy about it."
"Are a real unit"

Back to the sporting side and their opponents Leobendorf. The visitors started the spring with two wins and are the favorites. But that doesn't really matter to Ardagger. "Nobody likes traveling to us. A three-pointer would be extremely important. The boys are a real unit and know what to do against us." Ardagger's twelfth man ditto...
