Dead after head-on crash with disabled transport
On Tuesday morning, a head-on crash in the Weinviertel (Lower Austria) left one person dead and seven injured. A car had crashed into an oncoming minibus. Investigations into the cause of the accident are in full swing.
A head-on crash in the district of Gänserndorf ended fatally at around 7.50 a.m. on Tuesday morning. A car driver crashed his vehicle into an oncoming disabled person's transport on the B49 between Baumgarten an der March and Marchegg.
Driver fatally injured
All seven occupants of the minibus - all adults - were injured, some of them seriously. They had to be treated by paramedics. One of them - the driver of the van - was then taken to hospital by ambulance.
For the driver of the van, all help came too late. He died at the scene of the accident. The cause of the tragic accident is currently being investigated. According to Sonja Kellner from the Red Cross, an emergency helicopter, two emergency ambulances and four ambulances were deployed.
Second fatal accident in Lower Austria
Just one day earlier, a 20-year-old man lost his life in a tragic crash in the district of Baden. He was traveling with three other young men in a car that was not registered for traffic. The investigation is still in full swing here too.
