Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson have got engaged after a six-year relationship with the blessing of Martin's ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow.
The Coldplay singer had already proposed to the actress some time ago, reports the Mirror.
"In love from day one"
"They were in love from day one, so the next step was inevitable," a source told the newspaper on Wednesday. However, the wedding is not expected to happen just yet. "They are in no rush to plan the wedding and are just enjoying making their engagement official.
Chris Martin's ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow is said to have given her blessing to the relationship and the wedding. Martin and Paltrow have two children together, Apple (19) and Moses (17), to whom Dakota Johnson is very close.
"I love these kids like my life depends on it. With all my heart," said the Hollywood actress about them and can imagine having children with Martin herself soon.
"Magical" experience
The 34-year-old actress admits that she wants to enjoy life to the full and likes the idea of having children because it would be a "magical" and "wild experience".
Speaking to Bustle magazine, she explains: "I'm so open to it. I'm at a point now where I really want to experience everything that life has to offer. And especially as a woman, I think, 'What a magical thing. What a crazy, magical, wild experience.' If that's for me, I'm totally up for it."
The "Madame Web" actress adds, "I've been a little freaked out lately because we're not here for long. There's so much to soak up and learn and grow from and experience and feel.... And then I think to myself, 'We won't be here long, so if you want me to be a mom, go for it'
Famous parents
Johnson is the daughter of actors Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith. She began her acting career at the age of ten in one of her mother's films.
She had her breakthrough in 2015 with the role of Anastasia Steele in the "Fifty Shades" film trilogy. Her other films include "21 Jump Street" (2012), "Need for Speed" (2014), "Black Mass" (2015), "A Bigger Splash" (2015) and "Suspiria" (2018).

Martin is the lead singer, pianist and rhythm guitarist of the rock band Coldplay. The band was founded in 1996 while studying at University College London and has since released nine studio albums.
Coldplay is one of the most successful bands in the world and has sold over 100 million albums worldwide.
Martin was married to actress Gwyneth Paltrow from 2003 to 2016. When they separated, they called it "conscious uncoupling".
