Not only has Thomas Gottschalk himself made a name for himself in the public eye, his son Roman has also made a name for himself in the USA-and his offspring Basti is already a little star and seems to be the spitting image of his grandpa.

Thomas Gottschalk is not only an entertainer with a career spanning decades, but also the father of two sons: Tristan (35) and Roman Gottschalk (41). The latter has found happiness in the USA, both privately and professionally.

In California, Roman plays golf professionally, has a podcast "Golf mit Gottschalk" on the side and shares glimpses of family life with his wife Melissa and his six-year-old son Basti on his Instagram account.

Roman's little offspring cannot deny his relationship to his grandpa, and not just because of his surname: As new photos and videos show, Basti looks decidedly like his grandpa Thomas Gottschalk!

Blonde curls, beaming grin
"Basti's new golf glove," wrote dad Roman in a short video showing him and his son in a golf cart. The duo give each other a gloved high-five and grin into the cell phone camera.

The 41-year-old, whose trademark is a full brown beard, has little in common with Thomas Gottschalk, at least visually. But Gottschalk's grandson Basti is a different story: The six-year-old shone with blond curls and a winning smile in photos and videos.

As recently as June 2023, the former "Wetten, dass ...?" presenter shared a family photo on Instagram with grandson Basti and his great-nephew Paul, in which all three are grinning at the camera with almost the same hairstyle. "Blondes have more fun ... the story continues," the proud grandpa wrote under the family photo at the time.

"Why does everyone in the picture look like Gottschalk?" commented one user with amusement. "The resemblance is unbelievable," another was amazed. "There's a real Gottschalk in all of them ... You can't miss them ... cute the two of them".
