Aggressive leopard preys on humans

An aggressive leopard has caused panic in a village in the Indian state of Maharashtra: the animal ran through the alleyways and chased people.

A video captured the dramatic scenes: the leopard entered the village and attacked several people. Two people were injured by the big cat.

A team of around 50 game rangers and police officers were finally able to capture the aggressive animal.

Humans encroach on habitat
In India, there are repeated clashes between humans and wild animals living in the wild. One of the reasons for this is deforestation. As a result, human settlements are moving ever closer to the wild animals, increasing the potential for conflict.
