Aggressive cow injured four people on the run

Wild West in Ried (Upper Austria)! On Monday morning, a calf escaped during loading at the fairgrounds and was forced back into the barn after about an hour. In the afternoon, another cow escaped: the aggressive animal injured four people during its escape.

It's not just the carnival jesters who are on the loose these days, in Ried im Innkreis unfortunately so are the animals. On Monday, two cattle escaped during loading work for the Fleckvieh Breeders' Association at the local exhibition center.

In the morning, a calf escaped, which the police, fire department and employees of the breeding association were able to force back into the barn after around an hour.

Things ended less well in the afternoon when another cow escaped during loading. "This time, however, the cow did not run onto the adjacent exhibition grounds, but towards the city center," reports the Ried im Innkreis volunteer fire department.

Four people were injured when the animal tried to escape - fortunately they escaped with minor injuries and were taken to hospital in Ried by the ambulance service.

In the end, the cow ran into an inner courtyard, which the emergency services were able to block. Once trapped there, the animal was tranquilized with tranquilizer darts before being caught.
